Mark Hunter - Doing More With Less

Mark Hunter is the owner of Hunter's Appliance in Afton, WY.  On September 9, 2009, he presented his ideas tot eh Afton Business Association at the Afton Civic Center to a packed room on "Doing More With Less" - how to handle the many requests for funds from fund-raising groups in our area.  He also suggested to us how we can better manage our Corporate Citizenship.  Click on any pic to  see an enlargement.  You can hear his presentation by clicking here (a 17MB WMA file - be ready with your volume control).  He also had a "recap" you can listen to (a 2.5MB WMA file).

Star Valley has a declining economy, just like everywhere else, and the businesses want to support our fund-raising groups, but all of them coming door-to-door has inundated our businesses.  Mark's idea is to have a governing group that oversees contributions with an application and approval process - not unlike most corporations manage their charitabe contributions.

Mark also suggests we keep our spending within our valley, among our own businesses, so that we keep our economy strong and vibrant, instead of going to the "big cities" and giving their businesses our hard-earned dollars.

Many of the Star Valley business owners came out to hear Mark's ideas.  We hope to have his presentation up soon.
